What Is Middle School BBQ (MSBBQ)?


Middle School BBQ (MSBBQ) is a school-based introduction to live-fire cooking and barbecue education for students in grades 5–8.

MSBBQ programs are:

  • age-appropriate

  • teacher-led

  • safety-scaffolded

  • aligned with school policies

Students in MSBBQ focus on:

  • fire awareness and responsibility

  • teamwork and communication

  • basic culinary skills

  • introductory food safety

  • hands-on learning through guided projects

MSBBQ is often informally referred to as Kids Que or Junior Pitmasters.
In schools, MSBBQ is the formal educational framework used to ensure consistency, safety, and instructional value.
