Texas S-Corporation | National Governing Body

The National High School BBQ Association® (NHSBBQA®) serves as the parent organization and national governing authority for high school and middle school barbecue education and competition in the United States.

NHSBBQA® is responsible for:

  • National governance and oversight

  • Trademark ownership and brand standards

  • Educational frameworks and applied learning models

  • Competition rules, safety protocols, and judging systems

  • National partnerships, sponsorships, and certifications

State High School BBQ Associations

Each State High School BBQ Association operates as an authorized division under the NHSBBQA® national framework.

State divisions:

  • Implement NHSBBQA® standards at the state level

  • Organize and administer state competitions and programs

  • Support local schools, educators, and students

  • Maintain local leadership while aligning with national policies

Operated by TexasHSBBQ, LLC (Texas)

TexasHSBBQ is the first and founding state division of NHSBBQA® and operates through TexasHSBBQ, LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

TexasHSBBQ, LLC:

  • Functions as the official Texas division of NHSBBQA®

  • Operates under license and authorization from NHSBBQA®

  • Administers statewide programs consistent with national standards

  • Serves as the model for future state divisions

Future State Divisions

Additional State High School BBQ Associations may be established as authorized divisions under NHSBBQA®, following the same governance, licensing, and educational standards.

Each future state division:

  • Operates locally

  • Aligns nationally

  • Preserves clarity of authority

  • Prevents public confusion

State Association License & Authorization

The National High School BBQ Association® (NHSBBQA®) is the national governing body for high school and middle school barbecue education and competition in the United States.

Each State High School BBQ Association operates as an authorized division of NHSBBQA® pursuant to a limited license and authorization granted by the national organization.

Under this authorization:

  • State High School BBQ Associations are licensed to operate under the NHSBBQA® national framework

  • Use of NHSBBQA® trademarks, naming architecture, competition standards, and educational frameworks is permitted solely pursuant to this authorization

  • All state divisions must adhere to NHSBBQA® governance policies, safety standards, Code of Conduct, and brand guidelines

This license does not convey ownership of NHSBBQA® trademarks, national governance authority, or rights beyond the scope expressly granted.

Texas Founding State Language (EXAMPLE)

Texas High School BBQ Association (TXHSBBQ)

The Texas High School BBQ Association (TXHSBBQ) is the first and founding state division of the National High School BBQ Association®.

TXHSBBQ operates through TexasHSBBQ, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, pursuant to a license and authorization granted by NHSBBQA®.

TexasHSBBQ, LLC:

  • Is authorized to administer high school barbecue programs and competitions in Texas

  • Operates under NHSBBQA® national governance and standards

  • Uses NHSBBQA® trademarks and naming architecture under license

  • Does not represent itself as the national governing body
