ANNUAL IMPACT

Building the Foundation for Long-Term Student Impact

The NHSBBQA Education Foundation was established to expand access to education, workforce readiness, and career-connected learning through barbecue, live-fire cooking, culinary arts, agriculture, hospitality, and Career & Technical Education (CTE).

As a newly formed 501(c)(3) public charity, our focus during this initial phase has been on building the governance, infrastructure, and partnerships necessary to ensure long-term, sustainable impact for students and schools.

Our Inaugural Year

The Foundation is currently in its foundational year of operation.

During this period, our priorities have included:

  • Establishing independent governance and Board oversight

  • Developing IRS-compliant scholarship and financial policies

  • Building partnerships with educational institutions and supporters

  • Creating transparent systems for scholarship administration and accountability

  • Preparing to launch scholarship and educational award programs

This intentional approach ensures that as the Foundation grows, it does so with integrity, compliance, and student-centered focus.

Laying the Groundwork for Impact

While direct scholarship disbursements may be limited or forthcoming in this initial year, significant progress has been made in preparing for meaningful student support.

Key foundational milestones include:

  • Recognition as a 501(c)(3) public charity by the IRS

  • Adoption of Board bylaws and governance policies

  • Formation of a Scholarship Committee and review framework

  • Development of objective eligibility, scoring, and award criteria

  • Alignment with educational partners and postsecondary pathways

These steps are essential to ensuring future scholarships are awarded fairly, transparently, and responsibly.

Focus Areas for Impact

As the Foundation begins its work, our impact is centered on four core areas:

Student Scholarships & Educational Awards

Creating pathways for students to pursue education, certifications, and training aligned with career goals.

Educational Resources & Safety

Supporting access to instructional tools, equipment, and safety resources that enable hands-on learning.

‍ Workforce & Career Readiness

Preparing students for real-world careers through education that connects learning to industry.

Partnerships & Access

Collaborating with schools, educators, and institutions to remove barriers and expand opportunity.

Measuring Success

As a new organization, the Foundation is committed to measuring impact responsibly and transparently.

Impact metrics will be tracked and reported as programs launch, including:

  • Number of students supported

  • Scholarship and educational award distributions

  • Educational pathways and certifications funded

  • Partnerships established

Future annual impact reports will include quantitative outcomes and student-centered stories as programs mature.

Looking Ahead

The NHSBBQA Education Foundation is positioned to grow thoughtfully and responsibly.

In the coming year, our goals include:

  • Launching initial scholarship application cycles

  • Awarding educational scholarships and support

  • Expanding institutional and community partnerships

  • Continuing to strengthen transparency and reporting

We are building not just programs—but trust, structure, and sustainability.

Gratitude for Early Support

We are grateful to the educators, donors, partners, and community members who have supported the Foundation during its formative stage.

Early investment allows us to build a strong foundation that will serve students for years to come.

Impact Begins With Intention

The NHSBBQA Education Foundation is committed to ensuring that when impact is reported, it is real, measurable, and meaningful—always centered on education and students.
